The Washington Commanders tied the New York Giants, 20-20, to head into their bye week with a 7-5-1 record. Here are four takeaways from the game.
Three plays later, Heinicke connected with rookie wide receiver Jahan Dotson on a crossing route. Dotson shook off one tackle and spun away from another defender before racing into the end zone for a 28-yard touchdown. Heinicke finished 27 for 41 for 275 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions. He deserves credit for not fumbling near his own goal line in overtime after a vicious hit by rookie outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux on the Giants’ fifth sack.
