• The Bills scored the first 17 points against the Dolphins, then committed several blunders that allowed Miami — led by third-string rookie Skylar Thompson, starting in place of injured quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa and Teddy Bridgewater — to grab a second-half lead. But Buffalo regrouped in time to prevail, as Josh Allen threw for 352 yards and three touchdowns and helped the Bills to a win. They will host the third-seeded Bengals in the divisional round next weekend.
• The Giants added another achievement to their return-to-prominence season, continuing their dramatic turnaround under first-year coach Brian Daboll with a win over the Vikings — the first of any team on the road in these playoffs. • Little came easily for the Bengals as they began their postseason bid to reach another Super Bowl. The Lamar Jackson-less Ravens proved a tougher test than expected. But quarterback Joe Burrow delivered, even while playing with a depleted offensive line, and a 98-yard fumble return by defensive end Sam Hubbard helped secure Cincinnati’s spot in the divisional round.
