DES MOINES, Iowa — Reed Timmer scored a career-high 39 points to lead Drake as it downed Indiana State 90-76 on Wednesday night.
Timmer was 8 of 15 from long range and sank all nine of his free throws for the Bulldogs (15-13, 9-6 Missouri Valley Conference). De’Antae McMurray added 16 points and Nick McGlynn had 10 points and seven rebounds. C.J. Rivers led with 10 rebounds in addition to his eight points.
Timmer drained three 3-pointers and De’Antae McMurray and Graham Woodward each added another in a 21-8 start for the Bulldogs and they held on for a 46-44 edge at the break.
Indiana State went ahead by two early in the second half and Timmer answered with another three 3-pointers as part of a 13-0 run that put the Bulldogs back up 67-56 with 11:46 to go.
Jordan Barnes scored 26 points to lead the Sycamores (11-16, 6-9) who have lost three straight.
