The famously spirited Holton-Arms swim team wears costumes for all of its championship meets. According to sophomore Annie Smith said, they “make us look more unified and make us feel more together, even though maybe now less of us are swimming.” Earlier in the week, the swimmers had chosen “One Nation Under Water” for their costume theme. “I know some schools think we’re a little too much,” Smith said, “but you know, we love it. We love being that team that is known for being the loudest.”

President Trump and first lady Melania Trump lit the National Christmas Tree for the first time. The program was hosted by television personality Kathie Lee Gifford and actor Dean Cain and featured performances by the Beach Boys, Jack Wagner, Wynonna Judd, Craig Campbell and others.
