George Mason at James Madison

Where: JMU Convocation Center, Harrisonburg, Va.

When: 7 p.m.

TV: Comcast SportsNet Plus.

Records: Patriots 12-5, 4-1 CAA; Dukes 8-8, 1-4.

Outlook: The Patriots seek to rebound from their first regular season conference loss in more than a year, 60-53 at Drexel on Thursday. Speaking of rebounding, that facet has become a problem for Paul Hewitt’s crew. In the past three games, opponents have collected 52 offensive rebounds, compared with George Mason’s 31. At Drexel, of the 39 possible defensive rebounds, the Patriots corralled just 21, and on the season they have rebounded only 65.6 percent of opposing teams’ missed shots (ranking 252nd nationally). Senior F Ryan Pearson, whose 17.4-point average is third in the CAA, was 1 of 13 with 14 points in the past two outings. With seven blocks at Drexel, freshman F Erik Copes is tied for third in the league with a 2.3 average. The Patriots are tied in the CAA standings with Old Dominion and Georgia State but have beaten both of them. They’ve defeated JMU five straight times and in 15 of 16 meetings since 2005. The Dukes have lost four consecutive league games and are 3-4 at home. The back-court tandem of junior A.J. Davis (16.1) and senior Humpty Hitchens (14.9) is among the CAA’s most productive. Senior F Julius Wells (8.6 points, team-high 5.6 rebounds) will miss his fifth game with a heart condition.
