Skinny

Herndon lost All-Met point guard Austin Hamilton and shooting guard Jonathan Beltran, but have a core of sophomores that could have Division I potential. Johnson, a 6-3 guard, leads the bunch and is drawing attention from several D-I programs, and Thomas and Kent Auslander, whose brother John plays for Maryland, round out the trio.. . . Robinson will play a more uptempo style in an effort to exploit Pillow’s athleticism. . . .

Westfield is led by senior center Elcano, who committed to play for American and provides the Bulldogs with a load inside that few teams can match. Elcano averaged 13 points, nine rebounds and four blocks last season. Quentin Basil, a star wide receiver for the football team, will also be a factor.. . . Keep an eye on how Chantilly responds to the graduation of big men Jake Weigand (UIC) and John Manning (St. Louis). The Chargers, who graduated five of their top six leading scorers, will be led by senior guard Caslavka.
