Langley must deal with the blow of losing senior guard Austin Vasiliadis (Johns Hopkins) to a torn ACL suffered during football season. The Saxons are looking to capture a fifth consecutive district title. Dixon will be charged with taking on more of a responsibility offensively.. . . Several coaches said they expect Madison to be much improved this season. …

McLean returns one of the district’s top guards in Rogo (17.5 ppg.), and he’ll be supported by 5-11 senior Sango Amolo (8.8 ppg.) and Van Wazer (14.8 ppg.). … South Lakes will rely on Wallace – “As South Lakes goes is how he goes,” Coach Andrew Duggan said – but keep an eye on senior F D.J. Christian, who has the ability to explode offensively while averaging more than 10 rebounds a game. . . . Fairfax is another contender in the district and will lean heavily on junior G Zack Burnett, who scored 18 in a season-opening loss.
