Senior guards Matt Fall and Jared Steen lead a balanced Robinson team that excelled within its halfcourt offense last year. Senior Joe Bynum will be looked upon to lead the Rams in the frontcourt after serving as a spark off the bench during their run to last year’s Northern Region semifinals. . . . Herndon graduated Concorde District Player of the Year Will Ferguson but the Hornets return five of their top seven scorers from a year ago. Senior guard Dorian Johnson averaged 17.3 points last season and can fill it up from the outside. Swingman Kent Auslander and forward Deandre Thomas are primed for breakout senior seasons. . . . Chantilly looks to reload after the graduation of standout scorer Brian Sydnor, placing the onus on Deandre Harris to use his sharpshooting ability in leading the Chargers from the point guard position. . . . Oakton’s Robert Bacon averaged 18 points last year but will need defensive stalwart Will Smith and Dale Good to elevate their games with the graduation of Michael Fradette and Thomas Tribble. . . . Westfield, which graduated all five of its starters, and Centreville, under first-year head coach Patrick Hally, will look to surprise teams with their upstart play. Basketball Preview
