H.D. Woodson lost its top four seniors from last season’s dominant city title team, but the Warriors will still be the team to beat in the DCIAA this winter. Woodson still has veteran presence with senior guards Erin Blaine and Arjae Saunders, returns talented junior Breonn Hughey to run the point, First-year Coach Henry Anglin also adds transfer Georgiana Gilbeaux from Coolidge. . . . The Colts, despite losing Gilbeaux, figure to be a factor in the league this year with returning guards Cydney Greene and Kadijah Whitener, who averaged 10 points per game last season. . . . Ballou returns one of the best guard tandems in the city in junior Nadiya Holley (13.4 ppg) and sophomore Jermiyah Baker (9.3) …Wilson graduated three of its top scorers from last season’s 20-win team, but return 6-0 junior wing Mercedes Suarez and sophomore guard Lyndsey Downing, who posted 6.4 points per game as a freshman.
