Oakland Mills loses all five starters from last year’s 25-1 county champions, including All-Met Player of the Year Greg Whittington, so there is no dominant team in Howard County this year.. . . Centennial advanced to the Maryland 3A state final last year, and Potts, senior guard Ben Goldsmith and junior forward Timi Tinuoye return from last year’s rotation.. . . Stephenson transferred to Atholton from Mount St. Joseph, and he will team with returning senior forward Brian McMahon on a Raiders squad that will look to build on a trip to last year’s Maryland 3A East final.. . .

Senior guards Turner and Duane Echols, and junior guard Brian Green lead Hammond, who could be the most athletic team in the county.. . . Spurrier (14 ppg, 8 rpg last year) is the only returning first-team All-County pick from last year, but he is also the only starter back from Glenelg’s 16-8 squad.. . . Marriotts Ridge senior guard Arjun Patel is arguably the best shooter in the county, and the Mustangs should improve on last year’s 8-15 record.. . .

Forwards Joey Usher and Matt Christian and guards Cody Toler and Terance Epps lead an experienced Reservoir squad.. . . Long Reach and Wilde Lake are both potential dark horse candidates.
