Skinny

Gee’s transfer from Frederick to Linganore could temporarily shift the balance of power in Frederick County. The Division I football prospect led the Cadets with 15.2 points per game last season, and now joins a Linganore squad that includes senior guards Luke Jackson (14.0 ppg last year) and Juan Retana, and senior forward Tommy James.. . . Urbana got off to a slow start last season because its football team played into December and won the Maryland 4A championship. This year, the Hawks should be intact from the beginning. Lane, senior forward Bucky Erichsen and junior guard Thomas Utt — who played in only one game last year before suffering a fractured hip — headline a talented roster.. . .

Tuscarora lost a lot of close games last year and played better than its record indicated. Senior guard Jaylen White leads the Titans this year.. . . Senior guards Deonte Taylor and Nigel Fender are the only significant contributors who return from Frederick’s defending league champion team. They will be complemented by senior guard/forward Bryce Slaton, a transfer from Oklahoma.. . . Thomas Johnson should have some strength in the middle behind 6-foot-5 senior forward Terence Stafford and 6-foot-7 senior center Tony Dowdy.. . . Thomas averaged 23 ppg last year for Oakdale, and will lead an Bears squad that still has no seniors in the school’s second year of existence.
