Eleanor Roosevelt emerged from the Maryland 4A South region last season and returns a roster loaded with up-and-coming talent and skilled size in junior Tolu Omokore and sophomore Kaila Charles, who combined to average more than 24 points per game last season. . . . Before Bowie’s loss to C.H. Flowers in last year’s 4A South playoffs, the only county team able to beat the Bulldogs was Roosevelt. The Bulldogs will be tough to stifle again this season, as they return four of their top five scorers including Stony Brook commit and three-point threat Marshauna Butler (13 ppg). . . . De’Janae Boykin, the most highly sought recruit in the DC area, could break out in her junior season. That’s a scary thought given the 6-2 forward averaged more than 15 points per game last year and already has offers from schools like North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Duke and Georgetown. . . . Don’t count out Suitland (13-10), which returns a solid high-low duo in junior point guard Janay Weems (11 ppg) and senior center Taleah Williams (14 ppg, 8 rpg).
