When Queen Anne School closed, Grace Brethren-Clinton was the big beneficiary, with Michael Lepzem and Desmond Brogsdale (14 ppg each) coming over to the Eagles. With Harry Howerton (17.3 ppg) and Cabbagestalk running the back court, Grace is the league favorite . . . Covenant Life won a second straight PVAC title after a 16-0 league record a season ago, and will try to make it three in a row behind three-sport athlete Ferry (17.4 ppg), who is on pace to eclipse the 1,500-point mark for his career. The Cougars lost six seniors and will look to sophomore guards Brandon Thompson and Josiah Jones to add scoring punch . . .

McLean School has its six top players returning, including slashing forward Jordan Young (14 ppg), who scored 29 points against Washington International School last week. . . Hebrew Academy Coach Steve Achammer needs five wins to reach 400 career victories at the Rockville school.
