Skinny: Butler, a Syracuse recruit, returns for North Point, which aims to return to the state tournament for the third straight year . . . Smith, Thomas and G Jasmine Weems are the three returners from the six-player nucleus that led Calvert to back-to-back Maryland 2A championships. They will contend for a third straight under first-year Coach Tim Contee . . . Gleaton and a back-court duo of Paige Perminter and Damira Banks are the top returners for Maryland 3A semifinalist Westlake, which lost its top three scorers from last year’s team . . . Priest is a dynamic floor leader for Chopticon, which will also rely heavily on junior G Kala Herbert . . . Senior G Tyniece Woodland will lead the reclamation project at Great Mills, which aims to return to prominence after a 3-18 season last year . . . Juniors Keisha Davis and Kayeoni Jenkins are the top returners for Thomas Stone.
