After five straight weeks in the top 5, the Eagles claim the top spot on the heels of a 63-61 win over Riverdale Baptist — their third victory in as many tries against the Crusaders this season.

2. Wise (13-0) LW: 3

Following Tuesday's 73-49 romp over Bowie, senior forward Darron Barnes scored a game-high 23 points to lead Wise to an 81-71 win against C.H. Flowers on Friday.

3. Gonzaga (20-3) LW: 4

Eagles Coach Steve Turner got his 300th career win in a 74-64 triumph over St. Mary’s Ryken on Friday.

4. DeMatha (19-3) LW: 5

Ryan Allen continues to emerge as a go-to scorer for the Stags, and he netted a game-high 19 points in DeMatha’s 67-55 win over McNamara on Saturday.

5. Paul VI (20-3) LW: 1

Josiah Freeman drilled five three-pointers in as the Panthers rebounded from Tuesday’s loss to DeMatha with a 75-47 win over Bishop Ireton on Friday.

6. St. John’s (18-6) LW: 6

The Cadets keep getting it done with balance as four players average between nine and 12 points per game, including Reese Mona (11.3), who just committed to walk on at Maryland. 

7. Seneca Valley (17-1) LW: 7

Brandon Simpson scored a season-high 34 points in Friday's 81-54 win over Damascus as the Screaming Eagles remained unbeaten in 2017. 

8. Potomac (Va.) (18-2) LW: 8

The Panthers concluded their regular season with double-digit wins over Stafford and Massaponax last week, keeping them unbeaten against local competition. 

9. Eleanor Roosevelt (16-3) LW: 9

Jaden Faulkner scored 16 second-half points to propel the Raiders to a 71-68 win over Caesar Chavez on Saturday. 

10. Maret (16-3) LW: 13

Luka Garza had 26 points and E.J. Jarvis added 17 in the Frogs' 72-34 win over Potomac School on Friday.

11. O’Connell (16-8) LW: 12

Jay Heath Jr., is providing a spark for the Knights with double figures in scoring in each of the last four games, including 12 points against Carroll on Friday.

12. Wilson (22-3) LW: 11

The Tigers bounced back from Tuesday's loss to Theodore Roosevelt with a 67-63 win over H.D. Woodson on Friday. 

13. Riverdale Baptist (23-5) LW: 10

The Crusaders surrendered a late lead in their third loss of the season to Capital Beltway rival Rock Creek Christian on Friday.

14. Bladensburg (14-3) LW: 14

The Mustangs bounced back from their loss to Bowie with decisive wins over Suitland and High Point last week.

15. Loudoun Valley (19-1) LW: 15

The Vikings jumped out to a 46-19 halftime lead over Purcellville neighbor Woodgrove on Friday before closing out a 70-36 win.

16. Douglass (15-2) LW: 18

Six players hit double figures in the Eagles' blowout wins over Croom Vocational and Surrattsville last week.

17. Old Mill (18-0) LW: 20

The Patriots have won their last four games by double digits but should face stiffer competition this week with games against Annapolis and Glen Burnie. 

18. West Potomac (17-3) LW: NR

The Wolverines’ offense continues to soar late in the season, and four players scored in double figures in their 72-41 win over Mount Vernon on Friday.

19. Bullis (16-5) LW: 17

Chyree Walker and Vado Morse each had 21 points as the Bulldogs responded to a 12-point loss at Georgetown Prep with a 68-65 win over Landon on Friday.
