Aubrey Nash, an all-American football and basketball player at DeMatha in the 1960s, died Friday after suffering a stroke, according to a school spokeman. He was 62.
Nash was a standout guard on the Stags’ basketball team that won a mythical national title during his senior year in 1967-68. On the football field, Nash was a standout linebacker, leading DeMatha to Catholic league championships as a junior and senior.
Nash went on to Kansas, where he helped the Jayhawks reach the 1971 Final Four, and was selected by the Baltimore Bullets in the 14th round of the 1972 NBA draft.
He worked as a business resource representative for Prince George’s County.
