Trailing by one point in overtime, Urbana cashed in on a gutsy two-point conversion attempt to topple top-seeded Damascus in a Maryland 3A West region semifinal at Damascus. Urbana will face Seneca Valley in next week’s region final.

After Damascus (10-1) scored a touchdown on its first play of overtime, Urbana responded and then elected to go for two and the win. The Hawks (8-3) converted a play-action pass to pull the upset.

Urbana, which converted two-point conversions after all three of its touchdowns, led 8-0 at the half and doubled its advantage early in the third quarter. Damascus pulled within 16-8 late in the third quarter and knotted the score at 16 with less than two minutes remaining in regulation.
