Virginia 6A South region semifinal

No. 15 Forest Park (9-3) at Oscar Smith (12-0)

Saturday, 2 p.m.

At stake: A berth in the 6A South region final

Watch for: The performance of Forest Park’s secondary against Oscar Smith’s passing game. Tigers senior receiver Jaylen Bradshaw (Virginia Tech) was Conference 2 Offensive Player of the Year and freshman quarterback Shon Mitchell was also selected to the first team. Forest Park senior defensive back Mustaqeem Williams has five interceptions. The inside-the-trenches matchup of Bruins offensive lineman Chance Feemster versus Oscar Smith defensive tackle Andrew Brown will also be key. Brown, a five-star recruit, is committed to Virginia, while Feemster is Forest Park’s surest blocker.

Skinny: Oscar Smith has won 65-straight Southeastern District games and is nationally ranked. The Tigers won state championships in 2008 and 2011. Forest Park is navigating uncharted waters, with no playoff wins prior to this season.
