Howard-Florida A&M, Georgetown-Fordham football previews

Howard vs. Florida A&M

1 p.m. at Greene Stadium.

Off to its best start in two decades, Howard (3-1, 2-0 MEAC) hosts rival Florida A&M (2-3, 2-0), which it upset last season. QB Greg McGhee likely will play for the Bison after completing NCAA-mandated withholding for receiving impermissible benefits, though Randy Liggins Jr. remains listed as the starter. Senior LB Keith Pough needs 3.5 tackles for a loss to break the career FCS record.

at Fordham

1 p.m. at Coffey Field, Bronx, N.Y.

The Hoyas (3-2) play their Patriot League opener against the Rams (3-2). Third-string QB Stephen Skon will make his second straight start. Last Saturday, Georgetown failed to muster a first-down in the second half of its 37-10 loss to Brown. Senior LB Robert McCabe leads FCS in tackles (better than 13 per game). He was added to the watch list for the Buck Buchanan Award, given to the most outstanding FCS defensive player.
