Elaine Thompson-Herah of Jamaica won her second consecutive Olympic gold in the women’s 100 meters Saturday night in Tokyo. Thompson-Herah, 29, defended the gold she won in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, becoming the fourth woman to win multiple golds in track and field’s marquee sprint event. Thompson-Herah beat a field that did not include American Sha’Carri Richardson, who is missing the Tokyo Games after she tested positive for marijuana during the U.S. Olympic trials last month.
