Three other QBs who could win the Heisman
Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck may be the front-runner, but he’s no lock to win the Heisman Trophy. Considering that nine of the last 11 Heisman winners have been quarterbacks, here’s three more who could continue that trend:
Kellen Moore, Boise State
The Broncos again are positioned to crash the BCS party because of Moore, who led the nation in pass efficiency (182.63) last season. He threw 35 touchdown passes and just six interceptions. With his eighth win, he’ll pass Colt McCoy as the NCAA’s all-time winningest quarterback.
Landry Jones, Oklahoma
The junior who holds seven school passing records will power the offense of the preseason No. 1 team. Jones threw for at least 300 yards nine times last season, when he led the nation in completions and attempts.
Brandon Weeden, Oklahoma State
A strong-armed elder statesman, Weeden, who will turn 28 this season, leads a prolific offense that returns 10 starters. Weeden owns four of the top seven single-game passing totals in school history.
