Twitter embarked on a massive regime of layoffs Thursday and Friday, decimating entire divisions of the social media platform now owned by tech mogul Elon Musk.

In the wake of the job cuts, major civil rights and advocacy groups have called on advertisers to desert Twitter over concerns that the platform is falling short on user safety and content moderation.
