The driver of a Toyota Corolla died Wednesday after rear-ending a tractor trailer that had stopped along the shoulder of southbound Interstate 95 in Lorton, Va., police said.
Virginia state police said the incident happened around 7 a.m. near Route 642. The tractor-trailer was stopped on the right shoulder of the road, and the Toyota “ran off the right side of the highway and into the back of the tractor-trailer,” police officials said.
The Toyota driver was pronounced dead on the scene. The incident remains under investigation.

Drivers in Northern Virginia should expect delays along southbound Interstate 95 in Lorton because of a crash involving a tractor-trailer.
Information about any injuries was not immediately available. NBC 4 said a vehicle was trapped under a tractor-trailer. The crash happened near Lorton Road.
Two lanes are closed at this time.
It’s not clear how long the delays will last.
