Teenager struck by train in Laurel, Md.; MARC service restored

A male teenager was struck by a train in Laurel, Md., during Monday’s evening rush hour, authorities said.

Mike Yourishin, a spokesman for the Prince George’s County Fire Department, said around 5:30 p.m. that the juvenile had survived and would be flown to a hospital.

Prince George’s police wrote in a tweet shortly before 9 p.m. that the teenager was in critical condition.

Further information about the cause of the collision was not immediately available.

Service on the MARC Camden line was suspended for about an hour while authorities cleared the scene.
