Adrienne has lived in New York City since 2015. She’s a Maryland native who went to Los Angeles after college and then moved back east. She loves New York's culture, speakeasies and pop-up art and fashion exhibitions on any given day.
Where I live:
Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. Across the river from Manhattan, the slow-paced neighborhood has its own music and theater history from famous residents like Mos Def, Chris Rock and Tracy Morgan.
Best way to get around the city:
Take the subway, as the extensive train lines run all across Manhattan. It’s usually faster than cabs or Uber, especially during rush hour. And a lot cheaper.
Don’t leave without having:
A $1 slice of pizza from the many corner spots across Manhattan.
But the local favorite is really:
Running or walking through Central Park on a nice day. Or if you don’t run, picnic, catch free live music and try the food stands inside the park.
If I moved, I’d most miss:
The diversity of the people that make up New York, which lends to a hodgepodge of cuisines, art and music.
