’My life was forever changed’: Victim of sexual assault by officer speaks out
Melissa McMillan released a statement following a 2016 incident where she said she was raped by a Covert Township police officer in Michigan. The Washington Post does not generally publish the names of victims of sex crimes, however, McMillan agreed to have her name published to inform her community that she’d been victimized, and to keep other woman from being victimized.
