Carvase Perrilloux was not even 2 months old when he was hospitalized for covid-19 at Children's Hospital of New Orleans. He is among a number of children who contracted a serious case of the disease during the summer of 2021 in Louisiana, which had one of the lowest vaccination rates in the country.
