Javier Garza Ramos from Mexico
Javier Garza Ramos is a Mexican journalist and Knight International Journalism Fellow. From 2006 - 2013 he was editor-in-chief of El Siglo de Torreón in northern Mexico. The daily newspaper was repeatedly attacked by drug cartels. For the past five years, Ramos has trained journalists in security and protection measures and lectured about violence against journalists in universities and media organizations.
