Opinion | 'Eviction is a death penalty': Renters demand Va. governor stop evictions

Virginia's moratorium on evictions expired on June 23. Gov. Ralph Northam has urged courts to further delay evictions, but residents want him to issue an executive order banning the action during the pandemic. Between 19 million and 23 million renters in the United States are at risk of eviction by Sept. 30, according to an analysis by the Covid-19 Eviction Defense Project.
