Union leader Sara Nelson on the value of essential labor in the U.S.

Union leader Sara Nelson talked about re-thinking protections for essential workers in the COVID-19 economy. “We can’t just call these people essential workers and say that for a short period of time we are going to honor them with a title…this work is a lot more valuable than we had been willing to define before and we have got to address the wage crisis in this country that has had 80% of families unable to meet any sort of emergency…this coronavirus has shown us the real problems in our economy.”
