What is microcephaly?

It's a rare neurological condition in which children have unusually small heads and incomplete brain development. 


Scientists believe there is a link between microcephaly and Zika, and a growing body of evidence supports this claim. Brazilian officials suspect the country has thousands of microcephaly cases tied to Zika.
