A plan to resettle 120,000 migrants across Europe

The European Commission is proposing a set of emergency measures that would relocate 120,000 refugees and migrants currently in Italy, Greece and Hungary to 22 European countries. It includes an additional 40,000 asylum seekers that E.U. nations previously pledged to accept. The relocation would be done according to a mandatory distribution key based on such criteria as population, GDP, average number of past asylum applications and unemployment rate of the receiving country.
