Global water system stress and water use

Inefficient agricultural techniques, heavy subsidies for water and a lack of long term planning have left Iran's fresh water supplies dangerously low. As summer begins several major Iranian cities plan to implement rationing schemes, but experts caution the situation is likely to get much worse in the years to come.
