Activists declared a “day of rage” in protest against the Israeli government’s Bill on the Arrangement of Bedouin Settlement in the Negev, also known as the Prawer-Begin Plan, which, if implemented, will displace tens of thousands of Bedouin citizens from their homes in the Negev desert.
Nov. 30, 2013 Bedouins protest against the Prawer-Begin Bill in Hura, a village in the Negev desert of southern Israel. Several hundred people joined the demonstration against the Israeli government’s plan to relocate up to 40,000 Bedouins and demolish about 40 villages. The demonstration turned into violent clashes between Bedouin youths and the Israeli border police. Oliver Weiken/European Pressphoto Agency Buy Photo
