Anti-government protesters in Kiev built new barricades and pushed out farther along side streets feeding the Maidan, or Independence Square. Elsewhere in Ukraine, demonstrators seized administration buildings in the cities of Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnitsky and Rivne, and made an effort to take the local government building in Zhytomyr and Cherkasy.
