HEALTH SCIENCE

Well, What Do You Know?

LiveScience.com

LiveScience.com has chronicled daily advances in science and technology in an accessible way since it launched in 2004. Don't miss the site's addictive 10-question quizzes. Health-related test topics include nutrition, sex and the series of three quizzes about body parts. Quick: The ankle bone is connected to the leg bone, but what's connected to the gallbladder? (The liver, via bile ducts.)

MEDICINE

A Natural Change

Natural Solutions, February edition

The 14-year-old magazine Alternative Medicine relaunched this month with a new name and a Web site overhaul. According to editor Linda Sparrowe, using vitamins and supplements and buying organic produce is hardly radical behavior anymore, so the magazine ditched the old-fashioned name. Inside, readers will find a new section called "Simple Solutions for Vibrant Health" alongside familiar content such as an eco-chic fashion spread.

EXERCISE

Wogging, Anyone?

Family Circle, March edition

"If you regularly walk about 30 minutes most days of the week, you are ready to start wogging." Wogging? It's a silly word that means to combine walking and jogging, though not necessarily at the same time. The magazine's six-week wogging plan resembles interval training with recommended workouts such as walking for three minutes, jogging for seven and repeating it twice.
