Pistorius Verdict

Model’s death ‘culpable homicide,’ not murder

The judge in the trial of Oscar Pistorius, a double-amputee who competed for South Africa in the London Olympics, found him guilty of “culpable homicide” in the death of girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, whom he shot to death through a bathroom door on February 2013.

She did not convict him of killing Steenkamp intentionally but said he acted unreasonably and with negligence. Pistorius could face up to 15 years in prison.
