145 pounds Charlie Lynch

Spalding / Senior

Lynch, a two-time All-Met, finished his high school career 162-17, including a 60-0 record this year with 42 pins and four technical falls. He won the Maryland Independent Schools state tournament, leading Spalding to the team title, and won his weight class at the National Prep Wrestling Championships at Lehigh University. Lynch, Spalding's first two-time state champion and first national champion, was named the Gerald Leeman Outstanding Wrestler at National Preps, becoming the first area athlete so honored since DeMatha four-time All-Met Rudy Rueda in 2004. Lynch led Spalding to a 33-0 duals record and third place at National Preps. He will wrestle for the University of Pennsylvania.

Bishop Ireton / Sr.

Went 45-3 and finished second all-time at Ireton with 145 career wins. Won WCAC title, took second at state and third at National Preps.

112 Tony Farace

Oakland Mills / Jr.

Went 41-0 and won his third straight Maryland 2A/1A state title. Three-time region champion and member of Md. National Team

119 Jake Smith

Robinson / Jr.

Went 43-6 and won Va. AAA title with a triple-overtime win in the final bout. Also won Northern Region and Concorde District championships.

125 Nathan Kraisser

Centennial / Jr.

Three-time All-Met went 41-0 and won his third straight Md. 4A/3A title. Also won Mount Mat Madness. Ranked 10th in nation by Intermat.

130 Tyler Goodwin

Arundel / Jr.

Maryland 4A/3A champion finished 39-0 and is considering several ACC schools. Gold medal at Pan American Cadet meet last summer.

135 Brooks Martino

Robinson / Sr.

Went 43-6 and dominated district, region and Va. AAA tournaments. Also won Mount Mat Madness and Vanguard Invitational.

140 Beau Donahue

Westfield / So.

Went 60-3 and won Virginia AAA title with a third-period comeback in the final bout. Also a region, district and NOVA Classic champion.

140 Will Switzer

Spalding / Jr.

Went 55-4 for undefeated Cavaliers and won a state title and Battle of the Beach championship. Took fourth at National Preps.

Went 42-1 and won Md. 4A/3A title. Also led his team to the state title and dual meet title. Finished with 127 career wins.

Reservoir / Sr.

Two-time All-Met went 37-1 and won second straight Maryland 4A/3A title despite jumping up from 145 to 171. Posted 141 career wins.

Spalding / Sr.

Went 45-2 en route to Maryland Independent Schools state title. Finished second at Ray Oliver tournament and at National Preps.

215 Kyle Snyder

Ranked 13th in nation, finished 55-0, won Beast of the East, Mount Mat Madness, state, St. Albans, and National Preps. Never taken down.

Went 63-0 on his way to district, region and Virginia AAA titles. Also won the NOVA Classic, Winner's Choice and Big Blue championships.

All-Met football star and two-time Md. 4A/3A champion went 33-0 this year, 66-2 last two years and 109-9 career. Weighing college options.

Went 48-6, placed fourth at Beast of the East and National Preps. Set team records for career wins (127) and pins (80).

Good Counsel

Falcons topped DeMatha by 16 points to earn their first Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship since 1981. Led Good Counsel to a fourth-place finish at the Maryland Independent Schools state tournament, third at the St. Albans Invitational and ninth out of 110 at National Preps. Coached an undefeated National Preps champion (Kyle Snyder), a runner-up (Shane Arechiga) and a third-place finisher (Stephen Snyder), all of whom also won state and WCAC titles. Also coached Matt Foster and Sean Guy to WCAC titles. Good Counsel finished 22-6 in dual meets.
