Montgomery County 500-meter champ finished second at the Md. 4A meet in 1:14.56, fourth fastest in the country.

Sophie Chase
Lake Braddock / Jr.
Northern Region 1,600 champ ran mile at Millrose Games in 4:54.14. Was second in Va. meet in 3,200 (10:29.66).

Kimberley Ficenec
Mountain View / Sr.
Won mile at Virginia Tech in 4:55.68. Took second at Va. AAA meet in the 1,600 (4:59.15), won 1,000 in a meet-record 2:51.46.

Alexis Franklin
Old Mill / Sr.
Won the 55, 300, 500 and 55 hurdles at Arundel County meet. Won Md. 4A titles in the 500 (1:14.46 ) and 300 (39.62).

Nakita Gray
Friendly / Sr.
Cleared an area-best 5-8 in the high jump at Md. 3A West and averaged more than 14 points for Patriots basketball team.

Emma King
Oakdale / Jr.
Set a Md. state record in pole vault, clearing 12-3 at the 2A West meet. Won second state title with a meet record 11-9.5.

Carina Peter
Herndon / Sr.
Set personal bests in the 55 (7.13), 300 (41.10) and long jump (18-9.75); took second in triple jump at Va. AAA meet (39-7.75).

Kiah Seymour
Carroll / Sr.
Placed second in 300 at Va. Tech Invitational in 38.95. Also had personal bests in the 55 hurdles (8.20) and 500 (1:15.85).

Antonella Taylor
Bowie / Jr.
Threw shot put a personal best 46-9 at Montgomery Invite. Had winning tosses of 46-7 at Md. 4A East and 46-3.75 at state meet.

Sarah Jane Underwood
West Potomac / Sr.
Won the 1,000 at the Northern Region championships in 2:53.53 and won Patriot District title (2:53.79).

Omar Wilkins
Coach of the year, Elizabeth Seton
For the first time in his four years guiding the Roadrunners, Wilkins didn’t select team captains. Instead, he let leadership happen organically. Several girls stepped to the fore, creating performance incentives on the track and in the classroom. They also won their third private schools invitational in the past five years.
