The Virginia Region II player of the year racked up 310 kills, 242 digs and 70 blocks to lead the unbeaten Raiders to the Virginia AA championship. She also had 57 aces. Will play for Villanova.

Carole Ferrante
Ferrante guided the Gators to a 20-0 record and the Maryland 3A championship, the sixth-year school’s first state title in any sport. Reservoir won 54 of 59 games and captured its second straight county and region titles.

Averaged six kills per game and boasted a serving percentage of 90 percent in leading the Frogs to the ISL title. The league’s player of the year guided Maret to a 69-11 record in four seasons. Racked up 789 assists while setting the VHSL record for career assists. She added 224 digs, 72 aces and 40 kills to help guide the Yellow Jackets to the Virginia AAA quarterfinals. Anchored the Maryland 3A runner-up Hurricanes with 136 kills, 80 blocks and 30 digs. Maresca was a first-team all-SMAC performer in leading Huntingtown to a 17-2 record. The first-team all-Northwest Region selection had 292 digs to anchor the Bruins’ defense. Higareda also compiled a 2.27 passing efficiency rating. Will play for Virginia Tech. Shifflett, the two-time Northern Region player of the year, tallied 781 assists, 268 digs and 172 kills while leading the Saxons to the Virginia AAA title match, the team’s best finish. Will play for Penn State.

Huffman racked up 302 kills, 168 digs and 61 aces while leading the unbeaten Gators to the Maryland 3A title. Huffman also compiled a 95 percent passing rating. Will play for Gettysburg (Pa.) College. Led the Falcons to the WCAC and City Championship crowns while racking up 545 kills, 152 digs and 103 assists. A first-team all-WCAC choice, West had more than 30 kills in a match five times. The offensive force compiled 413 kills — a school single-season record. Lee also added 179 digs, 49 assists and 17 blocks to lead the Hawks to the Maryland 2A semifinals. Will play for Maryland.
