Thorpe and Sheer made history this year when they became the first U.S. sledders to claim a World Cup season championship crown. The pair first teamed up in 1988. Thorpe rides the front of their luge sled, and Sheer is on the bottom.
When not out trying to conquer the course, Sheer is a drummer in rock band and is working on a degree in communications at Ohio State. Thorpe enjoys snowboarding, surfing and golf, and has modeled sunglasses for Ray-Ban.
