This November, SHRM is proud to support USAA’s launch of Honor Through Action, a bold national movement dedicated to transforming the lives of those who’ve served and those who stand beside them: our veterans, transitioning service members, military spouses and caregivers. Honor Through Action is built on three pillars: meaningful careers, financial security and overall well-being.
Each of these pillars represents a tangible commitment to those who have served and the families who stand beside them. SHRM research shows that when military-connected talent is part of the workforce, organizations and communities thrive. Their contributions strengthen teams, enrich workplace culture and drive performance. It’s time we fully recognize and leverage their extraordinary talents.
But progress is never achieved in isolation—it’s built through partnership and shared purpose. As the trusted authority on all things work, SHRM is excited to partner with USAA to help the military community build strong, lasting careers through employer engagement, career navigation and skills development. Together, we will advocate for the military community through policy, legislation and community investment; expand access to opportunity; break down barriers to employment and stability; and unite the public and private sectors around one goal: improving the quality of life for those who serve and their families.
SHRM will also come alongside USAA by equipping business and HR leaders with the tools, training and strategies needed to recruit, hire and retain military-connected talent, with skills-first hiring at the forefront of that mission. When HR leads with intention, it doesn’t just transform workplaces, it transforms lives.
As we honor our veterans and celebrate them and their families this November—and look ahead toward our nation’s 250th anniversary in July—we remember that freedom is never free. And we renew our commitment to honor our military community. This is how we truly thank our military community for their service, not just with words or ceremonies, but with meaningful, lasting action.
And we invite you to join us! Become a part of the Honor Through Action movement at usaa.com/honorthroughaction, and follow the conversation using #HonorThroughAction.
Together, we stand with the military community, turning gratitude into progress and purpose into impact.
