More Than a Jewel: A Washington Legacy That Lasts

For nearly a century, Tiny Jewel Box has helped Washingtonians mark the moments that matter most. What began in 1930 as a six-foot-wide jewelry store, opened by Roz and Monty Rosenheim, has grown into a multigenerational D.C. institution built on a simple promise: offer distinctive pieces and treat every customer with care.

This video follows the people behind the counter and the stories that bring customers through the door. An engagement ring, anniversary gift, graduation watch or personal milestone is never simply a transaction. Each is an opportunity to listen, share expertise and help someone find a piece that carries meaning beyond just the purchase.

Today, third-generation owner Matthew Rosenheim leads the business with the same belief that relationships are as important as the jewelry or watch itself. That philosophy has remained constant as the store has evolved, most notably in 2015, when Tiny Jewel Box expanded its presence at the historic corner of Connecticut Avenue and M Street. The expansion introduced additional global designer jewelry and watch collections while preserving the personal service customers have come to expect. In a city known for public figures and history, Tiny Jewel Box is part of Washington’s memory: the celebrations, commitments and family traditions that unfold one meaningful piece at a time.
