The path to an inclusive economy

JPMorgan Chase is bringing the full force of its core business and expertise to support communities, employees, clients and customers affected by this global crisis.

The covid-19 pandemic is upending homes, neighborhoods and workplaces across the world. JPMorgan Chase continues to act on its belief that business, in collaboration with government and community leaders, has a critical role to play in solving our biggest challenges and helping to create an inclusive recovery.

In this unprecedented moment, the company is bringing the full force of its core business and expertise to support communities, employees, clients and customers affected by this global crisis. JPMorgan Chase took action to provide uninterrupted service to clients and customers, and also to support and implement safeguards for its employees. At the same time, the company is planning so that as the economy re-opens, it benefits everyone, better.

Rebuilding a more inclusive economy

Data shows that low-income communities and people of color are being hit the hardest by the pandemic, as it exacerbates pre-existing economic and health inequities. JPMorgan Chase chief executive Jamie Dimon said, “An inclusive economy—in which there is widespread access to opportunity—is a stronger, more resilient economy.” That’s why JPMorgan Chase is taking action—related to covid’s impact and beyond—so that when the economy re-opens, it will be more inclusive than before.

Helping vulnerable communities

JPMorgan Chase is helping communities that were under-resourced before the global pandemic and have been disproportionately affected to get through the pandemic and, eventually, be able to move beyond it. So far, this includes a $250 million global business and philanthropic commitment to support vulnerable and underrepresented communities, existing nonprofit partners and underserved small businesses.

Supporting employees

Around the world, JPMorgan Chase employees are continuing to work tirelessly to serve customers, clients and communities, and their safety and wellbeing are a top priority for the company. In light of covid-19, the firm took action to safeguard employees including extra precautions to help ensure safe workspaces for those who are still onsite and expanded access to medical resources.

These are challenging times—and JPMorgan Chase, through its commitment to an inclusive recovery, is part of the solution.
